お題『日本に来て驚いたこと』
Hello. I am Hormozd Kawano (Mehrrostami).
I’ve been teaching English here at Tomeikan for 26 years. Today I want to tell you about one of my first experiences in Japan.
I came to Japan 37 years ago. I lived in Tokyo then. It was my first weekend in Tokyo, so I decided to go to the Ueno Zoo. I took the train to the nearest station. When I got out of the station, I didn’t know where to go.
I decided to ask someone the way to the zoo. I saw a middle aged, businessman. I asked him the way in English because I didn’t speak Japanese then. To my surprise, he started shaking and saying,” No Eigo, No Eigo” and then went away as fast as he could. I was very surprised and didn’t know what to do.
But now in Japan if you asked someone something in English, he or she tries to help you.
I think to TRY is the most important step to do something.
